New LOs --- DID Challenges

Well, I had wanted to upload these two LOs I made yesterday, but I was having a hard time getting certain sites to work on the internet. Figured out my router just needed unplugged and re-plugged back in and now everything's working great!

I did two more challenges over at Do It Digi -- working towards my goal of 20 points to earn the Inspiration Kit they are offering over there!

This first LO was done for the Element Challenge -- we had to make a masculine looking LO. I decided to use some photos from my dad's family tree for this one.

Then for this LO for the "What If" Challenge we had to scrap what we would bring if we were stranded on a deserted island...wasn't sure I even wanted to do this challenge, but now I LOVE the way the LO turned out!!! It was so much fun!

Some Cut-Out Cookies: A Recipe

Over at Scrappin Freestyle they have a recipe challenge which Tallula Moon is hosting. She gave away this cute mini-kit freebie to scrap our recipes on. Even though I haven't had the need to make cookies lately, I just had to try making a scrapped recipe. It was quite fun and a neat idea as well!

Day off!

Boy, do I love having a day off! Usually we lose this holiday for a snow make-up day, but not this year!!! It's only a little after 11 and I've been busy scrappin away the morning hours and trying to do the challenges at Do It Digi. I have 3 new LOs done, all using kits by BooLand and all for different challenges at DID. Check them out here:

This first one is for the journaling challenge at DID -- we had to scrap a goal we have for 2008. I had to get a little creative for my photos for this LO, but in the end I'm happy with the way it turned out.

I actually made this LO of my niece for the colour challenge at DID -- so I had to try and add the colors I needed. I'm not too good at re-coloring, so I choose the easiest items I could to "fill" with the color I needed. The next one I did for the Font challenge at DID - the font is called "Note This."

Then, I decided to do one more challenge at DID tonight because I just fell in love with this quickpage that Marcie (Alabaster Box) was offering as part of the challenge. It's a family tree that I made with my mom's side of the family.

I made this LO for my own baby album. This is actually page 2 as I already did my birth announcement page a few weeks ago. I am really pleased with the way this turned out.

That's all I've gotten done so far today, but I have had fun looking back through all my LOs I've made in the past few weeks and feel that I'm really growing in my LO design abilities. I've also been wanting a way to create wavy paper borders and such and just couldn't figure it out. So this morning, I went searching everywhere and finally found exactly what I wanted. Bannerwoman has 4 great "border" template sets on sale at Scrappin Freestyle. I'm glad I got them when I did as they are in the "On Their Way Out" section of the store. The best part is I can use them both on my own LOs and on any QPs I make as they are commercial use items. The LO of my parents and I uses one of the border templates.

Weekends are my scrapping time! So as I complete pages I like to post some pictures up here to show off all my hard work! I spent some time today making my CT LOs for Tallula Moon over at Scrappin Freestyle. I decided to start with the nice "warm" looking kit called Tuscan Touch. Here are my LOs:

This was a LO I couldn't wait to share. My mom, dad, and I had gone up to Edinboro in August 2005 for my Master's degree orientation. After the orientation was over, we decided to take a roadtrip up to Erie to check out the FREE park known as Waldameer. It was a darling little place, and we found these cute signs near the entrance so of course we had to snap some photos before we left!

As you can probably guess, this is NOT me in the photo. I surprised my mom with this one, as this is her and my uncle when they were younger. I had to get all the info on where they were from her, and she told me there were more pictures from this trip somewhere. So it looks like I'll have to dig through the old photos again to see if I can find them!!!

My first QPs for Scrappin Freestyle

As part of our team duties at Scrappin Freestyle, we have to create 2 QPs using the monthly mega kit. This month's mega kit is called Winter Follies! I finished mine up today and created these great LOs using my pages.


One of the other things I've been trying to do is resize and save my LOs so they are not so fuzzy. I found some great tips at DigiShopTalk and tried them out on these 2 LOs. I think it made a difference, at least to me it did ;-)

Newest Member of the Scrappin Freestyle CT

Woo Hoo!! Earlier this week I was accepted to the Scrappin Freestyle store CT! I'm really excited. If you haven't been to Scrappin Freestyle yet, do stop on over. It's a growing little community, but there are so many fabulous people there you won't be sorry!!!

As part of the CT, I'll be working with the monthly mega-kit and I'll get to work with many of the designers fabulous products. This month, I'll be working with two great kits by Tallula Moon:

and Winter Chill

Now that it's the weekend again. I can't wait to start scrappin!! I'm even off on Monday, so that's one extra day to work on my new hobby!! Yippee!!! Hope to have some LOs to post later!

Finished the Challenges at Scrappin Freestyle

Well, at least I finished all the ones that were up for the first half of the month. On the 15th, they are supposed to put up new challenges which I'll have to do if I want to earn the rest of the mega-kit giveaway.

Here are my final two LOs that I did for the challenges at Scrappin Freestyle. The first one was for the Sketch Challenge and it features my niece and nephew. I just learned that my nephew was "being" Speed Racer in these photos from March 2006.

My next LO was for the Twisted-Scraplift LO, which is a monthly challenge at Scrappin Freestyle. The only thing I took from the inspiration LO was the idea for the Out of the Frame Technique. First time I've tried it and I think it turned out pretty good.

Weekends are definitely my scrapbooking time! I completed another LO for the Scrappin Freestyle Challenges last night. I only have 2 more left and then I'll have done all of them for the first half of this month!!! I can't wait to earn my mega kit pieces for my posting bonuses!!!

This new LO had to feature the words of the song, Who I Am by Jessica Andrews. I chose one section that seemed to fit with the picture I wanted to scrap --- so here it is -

Yet Another Challenge LO

I've been working hard on my goal of doing all the challenges at Scrappin Freestyle to earn the Mega-Kit, so I have another one here to share. I have two more LOs still to make before the 15th, so I'll be back to scrappin' when I'm done here ;-)

Just had to scrap this page of my nephew's 5th birthday, which was all Scooby-Doo themed for the ABC/123 Challenge at Scrappin Freestyle.

I had a hard time when I resized this particular LO, and I'm not sure why. In order to get it to the "right" size to post on the web, this LO turned out more pixelated than mine normally do. Oh Well - I still think it's fabulous and the party was a huge Success!

New Kits by BooLand

BooLand Designs has created a great new collection of kits called Birthstone kits. So far the first three are available at Do It Digi, Colorline, and Stone Accent Studios. It was hard to choose which one to start with, but in the end I picked March's Aquamarine Kit. Check out a few of the LOs I made so far with this great kit!

I made this first LO for the Mix-It Up Challenge at Scrappin Freestyle, where we had to show sunny days in this winter time. My next LO was also for a challenge at Scrappin Freestyle. This one is for the "What" Challenge and we had to scrap our Favorite Escape -- I had fun with this and went in a slightly different way, since my escape is not actually a place but the world of make-believe.

A few more LOs and a Challenge

So, the big reveal for the Supreme Team contest was the other night. I didn't make it to round 2 this time, but that's okay - I have plenty to keep me busy!!!

I decided that I was going to try and do ALL the challenges at Scrappin Freestyle this month so I can earn all the pieces to the Mega-Kit they give away!! Not sure if I'll manage to succeed, but I'm sure going to give it my best shot. I started last night with my first LO for my First Challenge there. It was for the Template Challenge. I LOVE the way it turned out!

This LO features my Great-Grandmother, Hattie Barr. I love the way it turned out. I had a lot of fun making it, especially the little yellow square in the corner. I used one of the different overlay techniques in PSP to fit it to the template, which gave it that great burned paper look!

Then, I just had to scrap this next photo. Last week, my mom and I were going through all the photos at the house and we found this one in my baby album. It just cracks me up -- I've got a ton of attitude showing in this photo! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Busy Little Bee

Well Gee, I have just been a busy little bee today! Not only did I make my page for the Supreme Team Contest, which I posted below. I have 3 other LOs done too!!! Woo Hoo for Weekends!!!!

I just finished up this first LO and I am so happy. Many years ago when we learned how damaging the old types of photo albums could be, we took apart all of our baby albums to protect the photos. But that left me without my own baby album to look through when the mood would strike. So today I decided to start my album anew and have scrapped my own birth announcement ;-)

My LO for the Supreme Team Contest

Yup -- I finally finished my LO for the Supreme Team contest. I really, really wanted to use the adorable snowman that was in the kit and this picture just seemed perfect for it. I haven't done much with overlays in the past, so I thought I would try using the Snow Overlay that was included in this kit. I think it turned out quite cute, if I do say so myself ;-)

Supreme Team Contest

Well, I'm pretty excited. I'm trying out for the Supreme Team (CT) over at Go Digital Scrapbooking. I get to work with Andrea Gold's Winter Frosting Kit for the first round. I love her templates and am excited to work with one of her kits. Haven't decided what kind of LO I'm going to make yet. It will be a surprise to me, too, I'm sure ;-)

I love all the little elements in this kit! I might have to make my LO a winter one just so I can use all the fun winter elements! We shall see soon, I guess!
